Denture Appointments - Auckland and Waiheke Island
At Clinical Smiles Denture Clinic, we understand the importance of scheduling convenient and timely denture appointments for our valued patients. Our friendly staff is dedicated to ensuring you receive the personalized care you need throughout the entire process, from your initial consultation to fitting and adjustments. We encourage you to reach out to us to arrange an appointment that suits your schedule in Auckland or Waiheke Island.
1st Appointment - Impressions
Whether you are seeing us for full dentures or partial dentures, your first appointment is a full consultation, where we take the time to understand your dental history, your concerns, and what you’re hoping to achieve with your new denture. This is an important step, as it allows us to design a treatment plan that suits your needs and ensures the best possible outcome.
During this visit, we will also take your initial dental impressions. These impressions form the foundation of your new denture and allow us to begin the denture-making process with accuracy and precision. Our clinician will explain each step so you know exactly what to expect.
This appointment typically takes 30–45 minutes.
2nd Appointment - Measurements and Detailed Impressions
This is one of the most important stages of making your denture. During this appointment, we record essential measurements such as your bite (jaw relationship), vertical dimensions, midline, and smile line. Using custom-made wax bite blocks, our clinician ensures your new dentures will fit comfortably and function correctly.
At this visit, we also take a new set of highly accurate impressions using custom-designed trays that are made specifically for your mouth. These detailed impressions and measurements help us select the ideal size, shape, and positioning of the teeth for your new denture.
When it comes to tooth shade (colour), our clinician will guide the selection. For full dentures, you can choose the shade that best suits your desired look. For partial dentures, the tooth colour is usually matched to your remaining natural teeth to ensure a seamless, natural result.
This appointment typically takes 30-45 minutes.
3rd Appointment - Wax Try-in and Aesthetic Preview
At this stage, your dentures are nearly complete. Each set is customised to your individual needs to ensure a comfortable fit, natural appearance, and improved chewing function.
During your third visit, you will get to see what your new dentures will look like. The teeth are set in wax, allowing you to try them in before the final processing stage. This “wax try-in” is an important step, as it gives you the chance to check the appearance, fit, and feel of your future dentures.
Our clinician will confirm that your jaw relationship is correct and that the upper and lower teeth meet accurately. If you would like any changes to the tooth position, shape, or appearance, this is the ideal time to let us know. Adjustments can be made before we move on to the final fabrication of your denture.
This appointment takes 15-30 minutes.
4th Appointment - Dentures Fitting and Delivery
At this appointment, your new dentures are completed, fitted, and ready for you to take home. This is an exciting moment, as you finally get to experience the full function and appearance of your new smile.
During the denture fitting, our clinician will carefully insert your dentures and check that they feel comfortable, fit securely, and that your bite is properly balanced. Any minor adjustments needed for comfort can be made at this stage.
Before you leave, we will provide you with clear instructions on how to care for your dentures, what to expect over the next few days, and tips for getting used to your new smile. We’re also here to support you with follow-up adjustments if required, as your comfort and satisfaction are our priority.
Allow 20 minutes for this appointment.
